Leeds
Career :
Chris joined the Rhinos for the 2003 season from Wakefield on a four year contract. In his first season at Leeds he was a regular member of the first team however he did not start a game all season, instead making an impact off the bench on 28 occasions. His first try for Rhinos came against Halifax when Leeds won 20-14 at the Shay. Chris was part of the squad that made it to the Powergen Challenge Cup Final at Cardiff that year however he had the heartache of missing out on selection for the big day. In 2004 Chris made 10 starting appearances and 4 as substitute before joining Wakefield on loan for the last two months of the season and was one of their top performers in the Play Offs success. In 2005, whilst still under contact with Leeds he once again joined Wakefield on loan, before returning to Headingley Carnegie at the end of the Wildcats season. His original signing from Wakefield was a case of second time lucky as Chris had already played for Leeds at Alliance level four years earlier however he was overlooked and moved to Wakefield to develop his game before eventually coming back to the Rhinos. In 2006 Chris returned to the Rhinos and made a further 14 appearances for the side and was part of the Senior Academy side that clinched the Grand Final. This though was to be his final appearance in a Rhinos shirt, with the prop signing for the Rhinos Yorkshire rivals Bradford Bulls. |
Rugby
Career :
Chris came through the ranks at Wakefield and made his debut in the 2001. He made just 5 substitute appearances in 2001, but in 2002 made 13 starts and 18 at substitute, including an appearance in the Challenge Cup Quarter Final at Headingley when he scored against the Rhinos. He was also one of Wakefield’s top performers. That season he led the way for the Wildcats showing his dynamic running style and power by finishing the season not only top of the list for top carries with 318 but top of thist for top busts with 48, not surprisingly he also notched up an impressive 2771 metres throughout the course of the season, also the best by any Wakefield player. In 2004 he rejoined Wakefield on loan for the last two months of the season. He made 8 appearances for the Wildcats and was one of their top performers in the Play Offs success, scoring a try against Hull. He returned to Wakefield again in 2005 on loan, making 21 appearances and scoring 1 try in the Wildcats win over Salford before returning to Headingley Carnegie at the end of the Wildcats season. |
