WALKER FACING RACE AGAINST TIME
Great Britain centre Chev Walker is facing a race against time to be fit for Hull KR's opening Super League match against his old club Leeds.
Walker, who returned to rugby league in the close season after a brief spell with Bath, tweaked a hamstring during the club's warm-weather training camp in Portugal.
He will miss Rovers' pre-season friendlies against Oldham and Castleford and is doubtful for the clash with the defending champions at Headingley on February 2.
"Chev is looking to be out for two to three weeks," coach Justin Morgan told the Hull Daily Mail.
"He'll be touch and go for the start of the season but he has responded well to treatment so we remain hopeful. I'd rate him at 50-50 at this moment in time."
Morgan is already without stand-off Paul Cooke through suspension and utility player Rhys Lovegrove, who is likely to miss the first two months of the season after severing tendons in his hand during a fall.
