  RESERVE ACADEMY SIGNAL THEIR INTENT

RESERVE ACADEMY SIGNAL THEIR INTENT The Rhinos Reserve Academy made a blistering start to their new campaign with a bang when they beat Hull KR 80-6 on Saturday at Stanningley.
The Rhinos led 32-6 at the break but then ran riot in the second half, scoring 48 unanswered points. Leeds are looking to reach the Grand Final for the third year running in 2008 in the newly named Reserve Academy. Leeds and Hull FC have contested the last two Senior Academy Grand Finals however the latters city neighbours were no match for the Rhinos on their first outing.
The Robins included former Leeds Academy players Jason Netherton and Chaz I'Anson in their line up along with Welsh international David Mills but the result was never in doubt.
Kallum Watkins was the pick of the try scorers for Willie Poching's side with a hat trick whilst there was two apiece for full back Ben Jones-Bishop, centre Ashley Gibson, who also kicked eight goals, and replacement Tom Sheldrake.
The other try scorers were Ryan Hall, Simon Brown, Joe Chandler, Simon Worrall, Danny Allan and Jordan Tansey, who also kicked two goals.
Hull KR's only effort came from Liam Welham with a conversion by Scott Spaven.
The Reserve Academy are next in action this Saturday at the Jungle against Castleford, kick off at 2.30pm.
